RIGHT OF REFUSAL: Any animal exhibiting symptoms of illness, injury, or any life‐threatening or contagious condition (examples: sneezing, coughing, wheezing, runny eyes or nose, vomiting, lethargy, diarrhea, loss of appetite, limping, canine distemper, parvo, rabies, etc.) at time of drop off, may be refused entry until such illness or injury has been remedied. We also have the right to refuse any pet we deem dangerous to our staff, management, or volunteers of Jurassic Bark Pet Resort.
LIABILITY: At Jurassic Bark Pet Resort, we do our utmost to ensure a safe environment for all guests, humans and animals. However, given the unpredictable nature of animals and certain humans, an interaction could take place, which may result in damage to property, illness, injury or death. Also, Jurassic Bark Pet Resort cannot be held responsible for the slipping, falling, or tripping of your pet on any surfaces or equipment regardless of it’s physical or environmental condition. Pets may be kenneled together at the agreement from the pets’ owners. As the Pet’s owner, you will assume all responsibility for any aggressive behavior, fighting or injury that one pet may inflict upon another while they are together. Jurassic Bark Pet Resort reserves the right to separate any pets who are boarding together at our discretion for the Pet’s own safety. Jurassic Bark Pet Resort, its owners, employees, or volunteers are not responsible for any damages, injury, illness, or death. By signing this waiver and contract, you, as the pet’s owner, release Jurassic Bark Pet Resort, including its owners, assistants, participants, spectators and all land owners, from all liability and any damages, illnesses, injuries or deaths which may arise now or in the future directly or indirectly, as a result of you, your pet, or anyone under your care, participating in activities or services provided by Jurassic Bark Pet Resort, including, but not limited to boarding, transportation, socialization, and training. You, as the pet’s owner, assume responsibility for any such damage, exposure, and medical or veterinary costs.
Please acknowledge and agree that any and all costs your pet may incur for veterinary services or an emergency veterinary services is at AT YOUR EXPENSE.
PERSONAL PROPERTY: I understand and agree that Jurassic Bark Pet Resort and it’s representatives and employees will not be liable or responsible for any lost, stolen or damaged personal property belonging either my pet or myself. I also understand and agrees that the pet’s collar may be removed in the kennel and play areas to prevent injury to the pet. In the event that you, or any other person you have authorized to us does not pick up your Pet on the agreed upon departure date, you hereby authorize us to continue to provide boarding and any additional services at your expense. If such pet is deemed abandoned under provincial laws Jurassic Bark Pet Resort will use its discretion permitted by law to follow the Abandoned Pet Procedure.
ABANDONED PET PROCEDURE: We will attempt to contact you by telephone and/or in writing using the information that you have provided, advising you that if your Pet is not picked up within 7 days, your Pet will be deemed to be abandoned and we will deliver your pet to a third party adoption partner, animal shelter, or attempt to find a new owner for your Pet. If you fail to pick‐up your pet for any reason, you release Jurassic Bark Pet Resort, its staff, owners, representatives, and agents from further liability and responsibility for your Pet.
SOCIALIZATION: Socialization of your pet will be solely at the discretion of Jurassic Bark Pet Resort. Allowing Jurassic Bark Pet Resort to Socialize your pet means that your pet will be playing and interacting with other animals and humans. Minor cuts or scratches may occur, and, though the pets are carefully supervised and monitored at all times, and the owners, staff and volunteers do their utmost to keep them safe; there is no guarantee by Jurassic Bark Pet Resort that a more serious incident (scuffles, fighting, even death) will not occur. You, as the pet’s owner, accept the risk of any such more serious incident happening. Please understand that you, as the pet’s owner are solely responsible for any harm that your pet may cause to another animal while they are at Jurassic Bark Pet Resort.
As the pet owner, I understand that while my pet is fully vaccinated that vaccines are not guaranteed and there is a risk that my pet may contract a contagious disease or illness. I agree that should this occur I am responsible for my own pet’s care and medical attention.
I understand that it is my responsibility as the pet owner to keep vaccinations up-to-date and not doing so may result in refusal of service.
VACCINATIONS: Jurassic Bark Pet Resort REQUIRES a current Rabies and core vaccine for all Pets in our care or receiving services. For your pet’s own safety, we HIGHLY recommend the Bordetella Vaccine. We will accept Pets for boarding services without the Bordetella Vaccine; however this is at the owner’s risk.
Core Vaccines Required for all Dogs
Rabies Vaccine ‐ Since rabies is an incurable disease that can even inflict humans, law requires
administering a rabies vaccine to your Pet. A rabies vaccine is given when the dog is between 16‐18 weeks of age. An additional injection is given after one year, after which boosters are given every one to three years. Distemper Combination Vaccine ‐This vaccine covers diseases like Distemper Virus, Parvovirus, Adenovirus and Para influenza Virus in a single injection. This vaccination should be administered to the puppy after 6‐8 weeks of age. A booster should also be given every 3‐4 weeks, till the puppies are 16 weeks old. An additional injection is given after one year, after which boosters are given every one to three years.
Non‐Core Vaccines Highly Recommended for Dogs
Bordetella Vaccine (Kennel Cough Vaccine). This vaccine fights against the bacteria called Bordetella Bronchiseptica that causes kennel cough in dogs. It should be generally administered to puppies that come in large contact with other dogs (during grooming, boarding and/or training classes). It can be taken either annually or semi‐annually, depending on the requirement and the level of risk to the dog.
Core & Non‐Core Vaccines for Cats
Core cat vaccines include rabies, feline distemper, feline herpesvirus and calicivirus.
Non‐core cat vaccines include feline leukemia and bordetella or kennel cough. Core vaccines should be given to every cat. Non‐core vaccines are reserved for cats that are deemed high‐risk.
PHOTO & VIDEO RELEASE STATEMENT: I hereby grant to Jurassic Bark Pet Resort, the right and permission to use, reproduce, distribute, and publish photographs and video recordings made of me and/or my Pet at any time during activities or services provided by Jurassic Bark Pet Resort.
FUTURE BOARDING: By signing and agreeing to this initial contract, all policies will remain in effect for future care of your pet until agreement is terminated in writing by either party.
DEPOSITS: Jurassic Bark Pet Resort has the right to request a $50.00 deposit for reservations taken over the Christmas holiday dates of December 24th – December 27th, or any other dates it deems necessary in the future. The Deposit will be deemed non‐refundable when cancellation occurs within 7 days of the scheduled arrival date.
PAYMENT: Payment is accepted by cash, check, credit card, Direct Debit/Interac, or E-Transfer at time of drop‐off or pick‐up.
